Problem overview

It's time-consuming and challenging to organize trips for remote working organizations.

Solution overview

An event planner for organizations to design team-building activities together with participants.

Team building activities are co-created by planners and participants

Research to define stakeholders

We researched on regular companies' organizational structures to see who're involved in event planning.

Event planner Interview

‘There’s delayed communication from remote working colleagues when planning an event’

‘I switched platforms from excel to a google form to slack when planning an event’

‘I sometimes feel isolated because I work fully remote’

It’s hard to locate activity-related discussion because it is often sent via group chat or email.

Pain point 1.

Event planners(teams) have to constantly change tools/platforms to make a plan.

Pain point 2.

People find it difficult to trust or build bounds with team members especially when working remote.

Pain point 3.

Participant

We used crazy 8 to explore the interface layout.

We finally decided to make 2 portals for event planners and participants.

Ideation

For event planner

01.

The event planner creates a poll to collect participants’ data and preferences.

02.

The event planner creates an event agenda for the event.

For participants

01.

Participants are able to browse, search, and reserve events.

02.

Participants can share their ideas and preferences with event planners through a poll.

03.

Participants can view events they joined on the Event page.

04.

Participants can view My Group, Valuable Moments, which strengthen team boundaries.

  • Thinking of the whole picture matters a lot

  • Product and service are co-created

What we learned:

  • We’d like to narrow down to intangible services in the blueprint

  • Do some testing and iterations to validate our design

If we had more time:
