Concept:

Since the pandemic, more and more hate crimes have appeared. Many Asians were attacked. Malice rushed out like balloons suddenly exploded. In this project, I chose the faces of 3 people who were attacked and projected them on the balloon. Then I performed, teasing them, and finally, popped them with a needle. Their faces gradually became broken, and they couldn’t tell who they were. At first, I wanted to use some racial remarks as the sound, but I later felt it was too detailed. I wanted a more murky sound left for the audience to think about it, so I used the sound of flies. The invisible flies are a metaphor for evil in the heart.
